Party, party, party, and deing disowned!

This weekend has been busy, busy, busy. Friday started with me finally deciding to get cable. Woo-hoo! In the afternoon I went to my sister’s shop and had my red hair redone. This time I went with my sister to pick out the color supplies and we went with a redder red than I used last time, so it is very bright and vibrant. I love it! That evening I went to church and helped prepare food baskets for some needy families, and were people ever surprised by my hair! I had more than a couple people ask if I did it just for Christmas. Now, I am as much in the Christmas spirit as anyone, but I don’t think I will ever color my hair just to celebrate a holiday!

Yesterday started early with me going to the church to hand out the baskets we prepared the night before. Everyone I spoke was very thankful, and it felt good to be able to help them out. Then it was off to my Granny’s house to celebrate Christmas with her.

Now, something that you don’t know is that my grandmother absolutely HATES red hair. She can’t stand to see it on anyone and she refuses to like anyone that has it. Imagine her surprise then when I walk in looking the way I do now. Immediately she told me that she disowned me. Then she threatened to take back my Christmas gifts! The thing is, I think she was only about half-kidding. Isn’t that funny that she feels so strongly about it? Well, she decided to go ahead and keep me, at least for a little while, and I got to open my presents after all. Which were very cool—I got a cordless Craftsman drill, some Bath and Body works stuff, and a necklace, among other things, but those were the biggies. As we were leaving, she made sure to tell me that she doesn’t ever expect to see me looking like this again and that she hoped she wouldn’t have to.

You would think that I would have had enough Christmas party and cheer after all that, but no, I had yet another party to go to once I got home from Granny’s. My neighbor, Kathy, invited me to attend a party with her at one of her friend’s houses in South Hills. It was a really nice party and we had a really good time. Towards the end of the party, not everyone was ready for the night to end though, so we ended up at Banana Joes. It has been a while since I closed a bar, but we managed to do it last night. Even at 2:30 in the morning though, we weren’t ready for the night to be over, so we went back to South Hills to another guy’s house. Finally, at 6:00 this morning, we decided we had partied enough and Kathy and I finally came home. I made it to bed shortly before 7:00 am. My plans were to sleep the day away today, but my body just refuses to sleep much when it is light outside, so I woke up shortly after 10:00, wide awake. So, now I am up and updating my blog for my faithful readers. If something makes little or no sense, please realize that I am working on three hours of sleep, and forgive me.

I do have to say, last night was a night when being single didn’t really suck too bad. In fact, it was a lot of fun. Kathy is getting a divorce, so she is re-entering the single life, and I have a feeling that she and I are going to have lots of fun together. We spent most of the evening/night with two guys, Scott and Robbie. They both say that they want to see us again, so we will see what happens.
